"I had so much fun creating this piece for the One of a Kind competition! When I first heard about the competition theme, I thought about the smell of spring and blooming flowers, it took me back to childhood and nostalgic feelings of picking flowers with careless abandon. The only thing I needed was a huge pocket to collect them in! So that’s what I set out to create, a one size fits all pocket apron perfect for collecting all the flora your little heart desires. This apron is completely up-cycled from a curtain, a denim jacket, a denim skirt, 2 button down shirts, a t-shirt, and a sari. Which just adds to the nostalgic feeling for me because it feels like hand-me-downs. Of course, I had to complete the piece with our new lotus palace print on the back because the blooming lotus at the top was too on theme!"
