Wow, what an incredible experience at this year’s Spring One of a Kind Show! I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to everyone who stopped by my booth, shopped, shared kind words, and supported my work. A huge thank you to the One of a Kind Show team for putting on another fantastic event—I am so grateful to be part of such an inspiring community of makers and creatives.
This year’s show went incredibly well! To be honest, last year was a very different story. I participated in the Spring One of a Kind Show in 2024, within just one year of starting my business, and I made a lot of mistakes. It was a humbling experience, but it also became the best learning opportunity. I failed fast, learned so much, and took all those lessons into this year’s show. Looking back, I can’t believe I went through my first experience and my immediate thought when the show ended was, “Okay, I HAVE to try this again.” I guess you could say I don’t give up easily! In fact, I think I could do even better and I'm looking forward to how things change from here on out. There is always room for growth!
Our booth at last year's show
One of the biggest highlights this time was having multiple ways for people to experience my work beyond just my booth. I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the fashion show and the competition, which was such an exciting moment! One of my tops was also displayed on the Roncy Packs booth mannequin, and I had so many people come by to tell me how much they loved seeing my pieces throughout the show. It was truly rewarding to know that my designs caught people’s attention in different spaces.

Another big change this year was our booth setup, and it made a world of difference. Last year, we had a 10x10 space, which ended up making it harder for customers to see all the pieces properly. This time, we opted for a 5x15 layout with our own hard walls, which allowed us to design the space much more intentionally. The pieces were beautifully displayed, and we even had a gorgeous change room—such a game changer!
For those who couldn’t attend the show in person, I’m thrilled to share that the Mother Tongue Collection will officially launch on the website on April 23 at 7 PM. The response at the show was amazing, and some of the most popular pieces—like the Akshara short sleeve shirts and Mantra long sleeve shirts—are already running low, with less than half of them remaining!
My favourite thing to witness this past week was how people of all ages, sizes, genders, and ethnicities were attracted to the Studio Dialectica booth!
It was also exciting to see so much enthusiasm around our made-to-order lengths and the Bring Your Own Textile (BYOT) program. Several clients took advantage of these custom options at the show, and I can’t wait to share the process of creating these unique pieces. The made-to-order lengths will also be available online, giving more people the opportunity to find the perfect fit.
This year’s One of a Kind Show was a huge success, and I’m so grateful for all the support. I’m already looking forward to what’s next and can’t wait to bring you along on the journey of creating these custom pieces. Thank you again to everyone who made this experience so special—I couldn’t have done it without you! I'm excited to day that I am already signed up to be back at OOAK for Spring 2026, and I have a strong urge to participate in the Winter 2025 show as well!
Mark your calendars for our Mother Tongue online launch on April 23rd at 7pm!
Until next month,
Arushi
